Volunteer Opportunity! New Pro Bono Project with PKAVS

PKAVS

Project summary:

Project:
PKAVS holds extensive details on activities and outputs, and is looking to fully embrace impact reporting. The organisation would like to move towards a logical model/Theory of Change based approach, to help plan impact evaluation, and provide a sound base to focus on future strategy development.

The exact work to be undertaken by the volunteer will depend on their initial discussions with PKAVS, but it is likely to include:
-working with the Senior Management Team, Development Officer, and any other stakeholders they propose, to map out a logic model for each of the relevant services.
-identifying any issues (disagreements on aims, gaps in evidence etc.) for PKAVS to take forward.
-Identifying steps for outcome/impact measurement. This could include exploring possible data sources, agreeing suitable measures, developing a project plan, or taking the work further.

Time on site may be useful to talk through reports/findings/implications and access to data.

 Time commitment: 4-5  days
 Location: Perth, Scotland

Please read projectscope and if you feel you are able to offer your assistance please complete the application form and return along with your CV to hope.meadows@theorsociety.com by Friday 1st December.

Charitable objectives:
PKAVS is a small charity with a big heart working tirelessly to improve lives and connect communities throughout Perth & Kinross. We help over 5,000 local people through our 5 hubs - Carers, Minority Communities, Third Sector & Volunteering, and Mental Health & Wellbeing. PKAVS charitable objectives include:
(i) the advancement of health.
(ii) the advancement of citizenship or community development.
(iii) the provision of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended.
(iv) the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage.

Main activities of the organisation
Carers Hub
The Carers Hub is a multiagency one-stop-shop for information, policy, best practice, and a first point of contact for unpaid Carers.

Mental Health & Wellbeing Hub
The Mental Health & Wellbeing Hub is committed to supporting the mental health journey of recovery through intervention activities, recovery-focused services, promoting healthy living, and the development of community connections. Clients are empowered to participate in activities such as arts and crafts, joinery, exercise, catering, and gardening as a way to improve confidence, self-esteem, and social links.

Minority Communities Hub
The Minority Communities Hub supports ethnic minority communities in Perth & Kinross. Acting as a one-stop-shop, it provides tailored support to people from minority backgrounds, particularly Eastern European, South Asian, and Chinese. A leading local service, it supports the expanding migrant population in Perth & Kinross, helping hundreds of people to access local services and play an active role in their community.

Third Sector & Volunteering Hubs
The Third Sector & Volunteering Hubs provide the Third Sector Interface (TSI) function for Perth & Kinross; supporting, developing, and promoting the third sector across the area. By providing business support services to new and existing charities, voluntary organisations, community groups, and social enterprises; and supporting information-sharing, networking, and partnership working; it seeks to enable a strong and vibrant third sector providing quality services.

Shopmobility
An important city centre service, Shopmobility allows individuals with limited mobility the opportunity to visit shops, eateries, and amenities. Through this access to everyday activities, shopping, and socialising, their quality of life, mental wellbeing, and general health is improved and enriched.
